Being a Ruby And Rails developer means that things as a web developer have become a lot easier for me. But there are still a few things about Rails and the whole mentality behind Rails that don’t quite sit well with me.

Which is why I am glad to have discovered Merb .

Now, being a developer I am always on the look for way to do things faster and better. And I think that Merb may just be the way forward in this regard from what is claimed about it. But until I use it for myself I won’t know for sure.

So I am going to start using it for small projects and test applications to give it a work out and see, in comparison to rails, how it really stacks up.

The good thing is that it is written in Ruby, and it is very similar to how rails works, but still has some fundamental differences in the way it works. These differences are the reason I like the idea behind Merb and I for one hope that Merb becomes very popular and takes off in the same way as Rails has.
